Device Out of Service

What is the best way to know if a device (or the total PBX) is not available? Has the ATAPI any event to signalize that a device is out of service?

There's a LINE_LINEDEVSTATE event that gets raised. This would be the preferred way to monitor it if the TSP driver supports the notification. You can catch this by hooking into the Changed event on the TapiLine.

Hi Mark

Thank you for your help. We 're already able to solve this issue.

Another situation is if the connection to the PBX is failed we would like to preview that the application should restart or send an email to the administrator. is there any event on TapiManager that we could catch in this situation?

Best regards

There's not a TAPI event that I'm aware of beyond detecting that the line is out of service. The problem is that the scenario isn't defined in the specification. That means you really need to contact the hardware manufacturer and ask them how they report that up through the TAPI stack; then you can figure out what field(s) to look at in the LINEDEVSTATUS structure which reports the problem.

Good luck!
